Prohibiting Trail Hunting England Wales

DEFRA is consulting on proposals to prohibit trail hunting in England and Wales, a practice where hounds are used to follow artificial scent trails but which critics argue is used as cover for illegal fox hunting. The consultation also covers related wildlife protection measures including amendments to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 regarding wild bird protection. The policy is currently in active consultation phase.
