The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office leads the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative, which addresses conflict-related sexual violence and abuse through diplomatic engagement, special representation, and integration with the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Current focus includes appointing a Prime Minister's Special Representative, strengthening parliamentary accountability through annual reporting, and supporting the Women, Peace and Security Bill.

This note sets out the UK government’s approach to the prevention of mass atrocities, primarily in conflict situations around the world.
This report follows a 3-day expert roundtable meeting convened by the government to inform the next phase of the UK’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) on tackling and preventing stigma suffered by survivors and victims of sexual violence in conflict.
The government has now published its response to the report from the House of Lords Select Committee on Sexual Violence in Conflict.
