Pension Scams Protection Policy
The Department for Work and Pensions is managing policy to protect pension scheme members from fraud and scams, including oversight of compensation mechanisms and regulation of financial advice. Recent focus includes the winding down of the Pensions Dishonesty Unit and handling of high-profile cases such as Norton Motorcycles pension schemes and access to the Fraud Compensation Fund. The policy addresses systemic failures in how regulators provide information and support to members making complex pension decisions.
