A Ministerial-led group of experts who will provide knowledge and expertise to support the energy transition across the North Sea.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero is leading a strategic initiative to reshape the North Sea's energy sector, balancing continued oil and gas activity with transition planning and community support. The policy addresses how to manage the sector's future through a charging regime for offshore activities, stakeholder engagement via the North Sea Future Board, and evidence-gathering on the downstream oil sector. Current status is active, with focus on ensuring industrial transition does not disadvantage affected communities and retains workforce skills.
