Merchant Shipping Dangerous Goods Regulations

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency is updating the Merchant Shipping (Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Harmful Substances) Regulations 2024 to modernise maritime safety standards for hazardous cargo transport. The regulations cover the carriage of explosives, chemicals, and other dangerous goods by sea, with associated guidance notes (MGN). Consultation has concluded and implementation is underway.
