Local Authority Boundaries Bill — First reading
A Bill to make provision about changing local authority boundaries in cases where there is public support for such changes; and for connected purposes.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is leading consultations on local government reorganisation proposals across multiple English regions including Kent, Medway, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Devon, Hertfordshire, and Oxfordshire. These proposals would merge or restructure local authorities, with associated bills requiring referendums and boundary changes. Multiple consultations are active on specific regional reorganisation schemes.
