Green Gas Support Scheme

The Green Gas Support Scheme, administered by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (formerly BEIS), provides financial support to encourage production of green gas (biomethane) from organic waste as a renewable energy source. The scheme is currently undergoing mid-scheme review and annual tariff adjustments through consultation processes. Recent activity includes the 2024 annual tariff review and amendments to the regulatory framework to ensure the scheme remains effective and cost-efficient.
