Ofqual is developing and maintaining a regulatory framework that sets consistent standards for how apprenticeships are assessed across England. The framework establishes conditions, requirements, and guidance for apprenticeship assessment bodies. Current concerns include outdated apprenticeship standards that don't meet employer needs, particularly in transport manufacturing, and funding gaps for higher-level apprenticeships for older workers.
