Project Gigabit Rollout

Project Gigabit is the government's broadband infrastructure programme to deliver gigabit-capable connectivity across the UK, led by Building Digital UK and DCMS/DSIT. The programme aims to extend 4G coverage to 95% of UK landmass and deploy gigabit-speed broadband to premises currently underserved by commercial providers. Current status shows progress delays and unresolved questions about which specific areas lack 4G coverage and how final-5% connectivity will be achieved.
