Environmental Common Frameworks

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) is developing environmental common frameworks to coordinate regulation across more than 3,000 pieces of legislation and 150 farming regulations, with multiple overlapping regulators including the Environment Agency and Natural England. The frameworks aim to improve digital integration and reduce complexity, with provisional frameworks published for resources and waste, ozone-depleting substances, and organics.
