Improving the Energy Efficiency of Socially Rented Homes in England

This consultation seeks views on the implementation of new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) for the social rented sector at Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Band C or equivalent by 2030. It covers the following areas: Setting a Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard Addressing Implementation Issues Longer-term Decarbonisation and Net Zero There are 33 questions in total. Most questions are open to all respondents, but some are specifically aimed at social housing landlords, it will be indicated where this is the case. These proposals should be considered in tandem with the consultation on a reformed Decent Homes Standard. A link to that consultation can be found below. This consultation will last for 10 weeks from Wednesday, 2 July 2025 to 11:45pm on Friday, 12 September 2025.
