The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 120(1) and 134(1)(b) of the Building Act 1984(

) and section 170(4)(b)(i), (4)(b)(iii), (4)(b)(vi) and (4)(b)(viii) of the Building Safety Act 2022(

).
Title
1.
  The title of these Regulations is the Building Act 1984 (Amendment of Commencement Order No. 1) and Building Safety Act 2022 (Amendment of Commencement Regulations No. 6) (Wales) Regulations 2026.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations correct an error in the Welsh text of both the Building Act 1984 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2025 and the Building Safety Act 2022 (Commencement No. 6) (Wales) Regulations 2025 to insert the coming into force date of 1 July 2026 into article 2 and regulation 2 respectively.

. Section 120 is amended by paragraph 76 and section 134 is amended by paragraph 82 of Schedule 5 to the Building Safety Act 2022. Section 134(1A) of the Building Act 1984 provides that the reference to the Secretary of State in section 134(1) is to be read as a reference to the Welsh Ministers. The power to make an order under section 134 of the Building Act 1984 may be exercised to make regulations by virtue of section 39 of the Legislation (Wales) Act
