We want to know what you think about our proposals to ban the keeping and breeding of pet primates in England.

Alongside the ban, we propose introducing a ‘specialist private primate keeper’ licence for people who keep primates to zoo standards but do not hold a zoo licence. We are also proposing transitional arrangements for existing pet primates that are not eligible for the new ‘specialist private primate keeper’ licence.
