The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by Article 4(3) of Regulation
(EC) No 300/2008
of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 on rules in the field of civil aviation security(

).
Citation, commencement and extent
1.
—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Aviation Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025.
(2) These Regulations come into force on 31st October 2025.
(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendment of Commission Implementing
Regulation (EU) 2015/1998

—(1) The Annex to Commission Implementing
Regulation (EU) 2015/1998
of 5 November 2015 laying down detailed measures for the implementation of the basic standards on aviation security(

) is amended as follows.
(2) Omit Chapter 9 (airport supplies).

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations make amendments to legislation in the field of aviation security.

Regulation 2 amends Commission Implementing
Regulation (EU) 2015/1998
of 5 November 2015 laying down detailed measures for the implementation of the basic standards on aviation security. The amendments remove current requirements for airport supplies.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen. An Explanatory Memorandum has been published alongside these Regulations on
