The investigation procedure statement sets out how the Building Safety Regulator conducts investigations into the building control profession. This procedure covers investigations into:
- professional misconduct for registered building inspectors (RBIs)
- contravention of the professional conduct rules for registered building control approvers (RBCAs)
- contravention of the operational standards rules for RBCAs and local authorities (LAs)
Professional codes and standards
RBIs must comply with the:
- code of conduct for RBIs when working in England
- code of conduct for RBIs (on GOV.WALES) when working in Wales
RBCAs must comply with the:
- professional conduct rules for RBCAs when working in England
- professional conduct rules for RBCAs (on GOV.WALES) when working in Wales
RBCAs and LAs must comply with the:
- operational standards rules and monitoring arrangements when the work is in England
- operational standards rules (on GOV.WALES) and monitoring arrangements (on GOV.WALES) when the work is in Wales
