The Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government visited Truro on 16 July 2015 to confirm the Cornwall devolution deal.

This builds on earlier Growth Deals and will gives the area more freedom to tailor services to local needs, support local businesses and create jobs.

This devolution deal was agreed between government; Cornwall Council; Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership; and NHS Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group, in 2015. A further Level 2 devolution deal was agreed between government and Cornwall Council in November 2023.
