The government is consulting on the case for a business rates relief to support local newspapers in England as they adapt to new technology and changing circumstances. The government wants to understand better the challenges currently faced by local newspapers occupying property in their local areas and whether a relief on their business rates bills could help support them. This is a joint consultation by the Department for Culture Media and Sport and the Department for Communities and Local Government.
