Land drainage draft statutory instrument

Internal drainage boards are responsible for water level and flood risk management in their areas. They are funded by farmers and local authorities. 

We’re seeking your views on our plans to update the data that internal drainage boards use to allocate their costs to famers and local authorities. 

Where there is local support to do so, this will enable: 

• existing internal drainage boards to expand their boundaries 
• new internal drainage boards to be set up
