Departmental accounting officers must produce an assessment of all projects or programmes which form part of the Government’s Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP).

They are assessed against the 4 accounting officer standards as expected by Parliament and the public for use of public resources:

  • regularity
  • propriety
  • value for money
  • feasibility
