We want to know what you think about our plans to update laws in England for food, including natural mineral water and honey labelling. These will make sure that current provisions in law can continue to work after the UK has left the EU. The amendments would apply in the event that the EU and the UK were not able to agree a partnership arrangement and common approach to food legislation. The proposals include:

  • recognition of Natural Mineral Water
  • changes to honey labelling
  • changing references from EU member states and institutions to their UK equivalents

We will be consulting on UK wide food labelling later in the year.
