Marine strategy part one: UK updated assessment and Good Environmental Status

This strategy provides an updated assessment of our seas and sets objectives, targets and indicators for achieving Good Environmental Status.

This strategy sets out how we will move towards Good Environmental Status (GES) in our seas over the next 6 years.

It covers:

  • the updated assessment of the state of the UK’s seas
  • high level objectives for GES
  • detailed GES targets and indicators, through which we will measure progress towards achieving GES

It is an update to the Marine Strategy part one published in 2012.
