Nature markets

Our ambitious goals for net zero and nature recovery require a major boost in finance for nature. Sustained public support for nature and to help farmers to make the transition to low carbon, nature positive farming models is important. But we also need the private sector to step up to mobilise the green finance that our farmers, land and coastal managers need to accelerate action on the ground.

This nature markets framework sets out:

• how government will guide and support the development of nature markets capable of supporting elevated investment levels
• our vision to hardwire integrity and principles into the market framework to build trust and confidence so markets can grow at pace in line with our increased environmental ambition
